careLearning Passport FAQ

Below, you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Passport.

What types of students can benefit from Passport?

Any discipline that needs to have compliance education prior to reporting to a clinical rotation can use careLearning Passport.

How long does a student’s Passport account remain active?

Students have access to their active classroom for 1 year.  However, the system keeps the student’s completion data as a permanent record in the case it is needed at a later date.

Is there a fee to my healthcare facility or school?

No.  The student pays the $10.00 fee.  There are no implementation fees or program fees affiliated with this product.

Which compliance courses are included with Passport?

We have 30 to choose from covering Health and Safety topics as well as Rights and Responsibilities, most areas gravitate towards 12-14 of them.  We can advise you of what is being utilized in your area or what options are available.

Can I add courses specific to my organization’s student rotation programs?

Yes!  We can add that at no cost.  The education would need to be PowerPoint-based, however you can link to pdfs, videos you are hosting, and other interactive content.  You can create a pre-test, a post-test, or just ask completion to be based on viewing all the content.  Many healthcare facilities especially find this helpful to share information ahead of time about policies, technology systems the students may encounter, as well as simpler information such as dress code, where to park, etc.

Can school faculty access a student’s Passport account?

Yes, they can access reporting.  The designation is “Instructor” in our system – and the Instructor exists both at the hospital and at the college.  All instructors can access student completion information.

Are student progress reports printable?

The students can print them as can the Instructors.  However, the Instructors have additional options to export to a PDF or an Excel file since they are dealing in bulk often rather than one student at a time.

As an academic institution, how do I begin to implement this program?

We are happy to provide demo accounts to review the material.  All courses are written on national guidelines put out by entities such as OSHA, CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.  The implementation is very simple.  You will only need to decide how the students accounts are created (via a file from you, or student directed), and we provide all the directions to distribute to the students as well as Technical Support for them.

I’m a healthcare facility that would like to require schools to utilize the Passport Program, how do I begin to implement this program?

As a healthcare facility, you just need to let your academic partners know of the change.  careLearning will be able to furnish everything they need with a quick call.  You can additionally decide if there are materials you would like to furnish to supplement our courseware and simply provide them to us so they can be inserted into the student classrooms.
